Surprise Ingredient Chocolate Cake

This is a moist delicious chocolate cake with something you would never think would be in it.....sauerkraut!!!
Ingredients:
2/3 cup butter
1/2 cup white sugar
3 eggs
1/2 cup cocoa powder
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla
2/3 cup sauerkraut (rinsed,drained & chopped)
Directions:
1. Cream 2/3 Cups butter & 1/2 cup sugar. Mix well. Add 3 eggs. Mix well. Sift together 1/2°C cocoa, 2 1/4°C flour, 1 teaspoons baking powder, 1 teaspoons baking soda. Then add alternately 1°C water and end with the dry ingredients. Add 1 teaspoons vanilla and the 2/3°C sauerkraut that has been rinsed, drained & chopped.
2. Grease & flour 2- 8 cake pans. Line pans with waxed paper. Bake 350 degrees for approximately 30 minutes. Ovens vary. Cake tests done when toothpick inserted comes out clean. Frost with your favorite icing.
