I found this on a cake box, have been looking for it forever. It's easy but looks like it took a long time. This cake brings back memories of a favorite aunt, and can be tweaked to your liking. Ingredients:
streusel filling |
butter recipe cake mix, divided |
2 tbs. brown sugar |
3 tsp. cinnamon |
1 c. finely chopped pecans |
cake |
4 large eggs |
1 cup sour cream (can use fat free) |
1/4 c. water or soda of choice. (diet or regular) orange would make it flavorful. |
1/4 c. sugar |
powdered sugar to sprinkle on top..about 1/4 c. |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 F. 2. Grease and flour bundt or tube pan 3. For Streusel Topping Combine: 4. 2Tbs. dry cake mix, brown sugar and cinnamon in medium bowl. 5. Stir in Pecans. Set aside. 6. For Cake combine: 7. Remaining cake mix, eggs, sour cream, oil, water and sugar in large bowl, beat with electric mixer on low speed until well blended. 8. Pour 2/3 of cake batter in bundt pan. 9. Sprinkle Streusel Topping over batter. 10. Spoon remaining batter evenly over filling. 11. Bake at 375 for 45 to 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. 12. Cool in pan 25 minutes. 13. Invert onto serving plate, cool completely. 14. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. |
