Summer Pasta Salad

The original recipe came from a charity cookbook in Ottawa ( I think titled Manor Park). It does not have mayo which, for us, is a plus. The original recipe called for basil leaves but pesto can be substituted for a more pronounced flavor. Enjoy.......(cook time is chilling time)
Ingredients:
3/4 lb tricolor rotelle pasta
1/3 cup olive oil
1/3 cup red wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 basil leaves, cut up
1 small green pepper, chopped
1/4 cup red pepper, chopped
1 small red onion
1/2 cup fresh parsley
1/4 cup black olives, chopped
1/4 cup marinated artichoke hearts, drained
black pepper, freshly ground
Directions:
1. Cook pasta, rinse and drain.
2. Toss with olive oil, vinegar and salt.
3. Chill 1 hour.
4. Add remaining ingredients - chill several hours.
