Sugar ‘n’ Spice Cookies

What a nice combination of spices this cookie has! It's between shortbread and gingersnaps. Roll into shooting stars, hearts, or flowers and decorte with Sugar Cookie Icing Sugar Cookie Icing. Note prep time does not include time to roll and cut out the dough.
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons cloves
2 teaspoons ginger
1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 egg
Directions:
1. Stir together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and ginger.
2. In large bowl cream butter, sugar, and egg; gradually add dry ingredients, mixing well. (If dough is very soft chill slightly for easier rolling).
3. On lightly floured surface, roll out dough to 1/8 inch(3 mm) thickness. With cookie cutters, cut into desired shapes; place on greased baking sheet. Bake in 375°F (190°C) oven for 5-8 minutes or until set.
