Stuffed Peppers With Cheese

Very filling and satisfying dinner.
Ingredients:
3 large green peppers
1/2 lb ground beef
1 cup onion, chopped
1 tomato, small, diced
1/4 cup rolled oats
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon celery salt
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded (about 4 ounces)
Directions:
1. Cut tops from green peppers; discard seeds and membranes.
2. Chop enough of the tops to make 1/4 cup, set aside.
3. Steam the whole green peppers, for about 5 minutes; invert to drain well.
4. Sprinkle insides of peppers lightly with salt. In a skillet cook ground beef, drain excess fat, saute onion and 1/4 cup chopped pepper, add to meat, add tomatoes and cook until meat is browned and vegetables are tender.
5. Add oatmeal, garlic and celery salt.
6. Cover and simmer about 10 minutes.
7. Stir in cheese. Stuff peppers with meat mixture. Place in a 10x6x2 baking dish.
8. Bake, covered in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.
