Strawberry Trifle

Fancy but easy chilled dessert. Delicious layers of flavor.
Ingredients:
1 pound cake (10-12 oz.)
2 pkg. (3 oz. each) strawberry jell-o
2 containers (10 oz. each) frozen strawberries
2 pkg. (3 oz. each) vanilla pudding (instant)
cool whip
fresh strawberries (optional)
Directions:
1. Cut cake into 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Layer slices in bottom of sheet cake pan. Set aside. Make Jell-O according to box directions, minus 1/2 cup of water; mix in frozen strawberries and pour all over cake.
2. Chill until set.
3. Make pudding; pour over cake and let set.
4. Spread on Cool Whip.
5. Top with fresh strawberries, if desired.
