Strawberry Champagne Pie

Ingredients:
1 envelope knox gelatin
1/3 cup sugar
1-1/4 cups pink champagne
1 pint strawberry ice cream,softened
1 small container frozen whipped topping(2 cups)
1 baked 9 pie shell,cooled
1-1/2 to 2 cups whole strawberries,hulled
strawberry glaze
3/4 cup fresh strawberries,hulled
3/4 cup pink champagne
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
few drops red food coloring,if you like
Directions:
1. In a medium saucepan,combine gelatin and sugar.
2. Add champagne.
3. Stir over medium heat until gelatin dissolves.
4. Remove from heat.
5. Add Ice Cream and stir until melted.
6. Stir in 2 cups whipped topping.
7. Beat with a whisk until smooth.
8. Refrigerate until mixture mounds when dropped from a spoon ,about 1 hour.
9. Turn into baked,cooled pie crust.
10. Refrigerate until firm(I leave overnight)
11. Make Strawberry Glaze:
12. In saucepan,crush strawberries.
13. Add champagne.
14. Cook over medium heat about 2 minutes,put through a sieve.
15. Combine sugar,and cornstarch.
16. Stir into strawberry mixture.
17. Cook and stir until mixture is thickened a bubbly.
18. Stir in food coloring,Cool glaze at room temperature.
19. Remove pie from refrigerate,arrange whole strawberries on top of pie,spoon cooled glaze over strawberries.
20. Refigerate until serving time.
