My DH has to have this whenever I make his German Hamburger Patties. It is a recipe that his Mother and Oma always made. It is on the bland side but he likes to eat it with some ketchup. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons shortening |
4 medium white potatoes |
1/2 cup onion, chopped |
1/2-3/4 cup water |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. Peel and dice potatoes. 2. Chop onion. 3. Heat shortening in skillet. 4. Add potatoes and onion. 5. Fry until almost crisp. 6. Add water. 7. Cover skillet. 8. Stir frequently. 9. Steam until most of liquid is gone. |
