This is one cake , I make often . No opening the steamer until the cake is almost three quarter done , unless you wann the cake to COLLAPSE !!!!!!!
Ingredients:
200 g caster sugar
200 ml water
200 g butter
300 g sugar
300 g plain flour and 2 tsps baking soda , sifted
4 l eggs
200 ml low fat evaporated milk
Directions:
1. Heat gently the sugar until ir caramalizes .
2. Turn off heat and add the water .
3. Boil again until it completely melts . Cool it .
4. Now , beat the butter and the sugar .
5. Add the eggs one at a time and beat .
6. Fold in the flour .
7. Add the caramel and milk .
8. Grease a 15 cm pan and steam it for 2.30 hours or until done .
