Squash & Potato Casserole

Another one of my mom's delicious recipes.
Ingredients:
1/2 onion, chopped
2 tablespoons butter
3 yellow squash
3 small russet potatoes
1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup mild cheddar cheese, grated
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
1 cup ritz cracker, crushed
2 tablespoons butter, melted
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Cut up squash and potatoes (into small chunks) and boil in water until tender.
3. Drain and set aside.
4. Saute onion in butter for 3-5 minutes and remove from pan.
5. Mix onion, sour crean, cheese, salt and pepper together.
6. Add potatoes and squash.
7. Pour into a 2 quart casserole dish.
8. Mix Ritz with melted butter and spread on the casserole.
9. Bake for 25 mintues.
