Spiked Rhubarb Sauce

I had no suitable liquid (such as orange juice) in the fridge for making my rhubarb sauce so I used semi sweet red wine. The result was a sweet & tart sauce that was awesome & I will NEVER use orange juice again!
Ingredients:
1 lb rhubarb
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup red wine
Directions:
1. Wash rhubarb& cut into 1/2 inch pieces.
2. Combine all ingredients in a heavy pot& bring to a boil.
3. Lower heat& simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 30 minutes or to desired consistency.
4. Let the sauce cool slightly& serve over ice cream.
