This zippy chili is a pleasant change from the triditional beef chili recipes.
Ingredients:
ingredients
1 pound ground pork
2 large onions, chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 medium sweet red pepper, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 cup chopped celery
2 cans ( 14 1/2 -oz each ) diced tomatoes with liquid
1 can ( 16-oz ) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 can ( 6-oz ) tomato paste
3/4 cup water
2 tsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. dried oregano
1 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
dash hot pepper sauce
Directions:
1. In a dutch oven, brown pork and onions until pork is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the garlic, peppers and celery; cook for 5 minutes. Add remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 45 minutes. Yields: 8 servings ( 2 1/2 quarts )
