Spicy Margarita Mussels

These wonderful steamed mussels work as part of a seafood meal or as an appetizer. Either way, they are bursting with buttery, kicky flavor and steamed to give make great use of this fresh treat!
Ingredients:
3lbs fresh mussels scrubbed and debearded
2 sticks butter
9 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, diced
about 8-10 chili peppers, diced(jalapenos, serrano, anaheims, banana, etc)
2t old bay seasoning
3 shots tequila
2 limes, juiced
1 lime, cut into wedges
several sprigs of fresh cilantro
Directions:
1. In large stock pot, or similar, melt butter over medium heat.
2. Add onion and and cook about 2 minutes, stirring often.
3. Add garlic and cook another 2-3 minutes until fragrant and onion and peppers are tender.
4. Add remaining ingredients(but just use the juice from 2 limes) and cover.
5. Steam until mussels just open(6-8 minutes).
6. Remove mussels to a heat proof serving bowl, set aside.
7. Heat sauce to boiling and boil 1 minute.
8. Remove from heat and carefully pour over the mussels.
9. Serve with lime wedges and rounds or pieces of crusty bread for dipping!
10. (I garnished with lemon slices for the pic, cus I wedged my last lime and it didn't look pretty :)
