Spicy Flank Steak

Ingredients:
1 (16 ounce) can cut-up whole italian-style tomatoes
1/2 cup wine vinegar
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped celery
1/4 cup chopped green sweet pepper
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 seeded and chopped jalapeno peppers
6 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/4-1 1/2 lbs beef flank steak or 1 1/4-1 1/2 lbs sirloin steaks, cut about 1 inch thick
Directions:
1. For Sauce: In medium saucepan, combine tomatoes, vinegar, onion, celery green pepper, brown sugar, jalapeno pepper, garlic, cinnamon, 1/4 tsp salt, ginger and red pepper.
2. Bring to a boil, reduce heat.
3. Simmer, uncovered, about 20 minutes or until desired consistency, stirring occasionally.
4. Meanwhile, combine chili powder, cumin and 1/4 tsp salt.
5. Rub onto both sides of steak.
6. Grill steak on the grill rack of an uncovered grill directly over medium coals for 14-16 minutes or to desired doneness.
7. Remove from grill, Let stand for 5 minutes.
8. To serve, thinly slice meat across the grain.
9. Serve with Sauce.
