Spicy Black Bean Soup

Ingredients:
1 medium onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup red wine or 1/2 cup stock or 1/2 cup water
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
4 cups water or 4 cups stock
1 green bell pepper, diced
2 stalks celery, diced
2 cups sliced okra
2 teaspoons finely minced fresh ginger (don t omit ginger)
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 cup diced zucchini
1 (15 ounce) can black beans, with liquid
1 -2 tablespoon soy sauce
4 cups cooked brown rice
2 smoked sausage
1 habanero pepper (optional)
Directions:
1. Braise the onion and garlic in wine until onion is soft.
2. Add tomatoes, water, green pepper, celery, okra, ginger, and seasonings; simmer for 15 minutes.
