A nice change from plain rice, this dish complements curry very well. From Easy Curry Cookery.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups long-grain rice
3 tablespoons margarine
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 stick cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
1/2 cup frozen peas
3 1/2 cups water
1 cube beef bouillon
Directions:
1. Heat the margarine in a large saucepan. Add spices and stir over medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
2. Stir in peas, water, bouilion cube and rice. Bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes or until water is absorbed.
3. Remove cinnamon stick and stir before serving.
