Spiced Prunes

These will keep up to 5 days in the refrigerator.
Ingredients:
1 lb prune (dried plums)
3 cups water
1 cinnamon stick
1 teaspoon whole allspice
1/2 teaspoon whole cloves
2 slices fresh lemon rind (1/2 inch wide and 3 inches long)
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup lemon juice
Directions:
1. Combine the prunes and water in a large saucepan.
2. Place the spices and lemon rind in a piece of cheesecloth, tie tightly and drop into the saucepan.
3. Cover the pan, bring to a boil over high heat, then lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
4. Remove pan from heat, and stir in the brown sugar and lemon juice.
5. Let cool, then store in a glass jar in refrigerator overnight.
6. Remove spice bag just before serving.
