These are heavier on account of the spelt flour, but the nutty whole grain flavor is divine. These are wheat free, but not gluten free.
Ingredients:
2 cups spelt flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons butter
2/3 cup fat free milk
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
2. In a large bowl mix stir flour, salt, and baking powder together. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
3. Gradually stir in milk until dough pulls away from sides of the bowl. You may need to adjust amount of milk.
4. Pat out onto floured surface to about 1 inch think, and cut into biscuits. Place each one on cookie sheet, and bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until bottoms are golden brown.
