Super easy bar cookie recipe. This recipe is good if you need something in a hurry. This recipe was printed early on the back of a Duncan Hines cake mix. I got this recipe from one of my many cookbooks. I've made it many times and am asked quite often for the recipe for them. Read more . They may be speedy little devils , but they sure are heavenly!!
Ingredients:
1 pkg. devil's food cake mix
1 stick butter or margarine, melted
3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1 (7 to 7.5 oz) jar marshmallow cream
Directions:
1. Combine melted butter and cake mix - let butter cool before adding to mix. Mix will be crumbly.
2. Set aside - reserve 1 1/2 cups of mixture for topping.
3. Pat remaining crumb mixture into an ungreased 9 X 13 pan.
4. Combine marshmallow cream and peanut butter - spread evenly over the crumb mixture in the pan.
5. Crumble the reserved 1 1/2 cups of cake mixture over top of peanut butter/marshmallow mixture.
6. Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees - cool and cut into bars.
7. Be careful to not overbake.
