Spanish Bean Soup Garbanzo

My favorite soup ever!
Ingredients:
2 chorizos (spanish sausage) sliced
1 large onion
3 cloves garlic
salt and pepper
3 or 4 medium potatoes diced (save water for soup)
4 cans garbanzo beans with liquid
large pinch of saffron threads
water
1 c. cubed ham
Directions:
1. Place all ingredients in a large pot nad simmer for several hours.
2. Leftover soup will keep at least a week, and gets better the longer it sits.
3. You can also add ham hocks if you like.
