Spaghetti Sauce With Meatballs

Yummy thick sauce.
Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground beef
1 cup breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon parsley
1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1 egg, beaten
3/4 cup chopped onion
5 minced garlic cloves
1/4 cup olive oil
2 (28 ounce) cans whole canned tomatoes
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon white sugar
1 bay leaf
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
3/4 teaspoon basil
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Directions:
1. Combine ground beef, bread crumbs, parsley, parmesean, 1/4tsp blk pepper, garlic powder, egg. Mix well and form into balls. Chill covered until needed.
2. In large saucepan over medium heat, saute onion and garlic in olive oil. Stir in tomatoes, salt, sugar and bay leaf. Cover reduce to low and simmer 90 minute Stir in tomato paste, basil, 1/2 tsp pepper and meatballs and simmer for 30min more.
