A little different than the others I've seen but oh, so tasty. I never make my sauce the same way everytime but this one stands out over all the rest.
Ingredients:
2 lbs jimmy dean hot sausage
2 (32 ounce) jars chunky ragu spaghetti sauce (any flavor)
1 large yellow onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 (4 ounce) cans diced green chilies
1/2 cup heinz 57 steak sauce
1/4 cup sweet and hot mustard (or to taste)
1 -2 bay leaf
2 (4 ounce) cans mushrooms
salt and pepper
Directions:
1. Brown sausage, onions, and garlic in skillet until sausage is done and onions are soft. Drain fat. In a large pot, pour in Ragu, sausage mixture, green chilies, 57 sauce, mustard, bay leaves, mushrooms, and salt and pepper to taste. Stir until well mixed and simmer for 2 to 3 hours on low.
2. Cook your pasta of choice in plenty of boiling, salted water with a little olive oil added until al dente. Drain well. Put desired amount of pasta on each plate and ladle on sauce. Top with freshly grated parmesan cheese. Serve with tossed green salad and garlic bread. Note: Remove bay leaves before serving.
