With each bite of zesty Southwestern Burgers, discover the bold tastes of cilantro and chipotle chile powder with bits of corn kernels mixed together with lean ground beef. Add an extra kick to your burger with a slice of pepper Jack cheese.
Ingredients:
1 pound extra-lean ground beef
1 large egg
1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
2 teaspoons finely minced garlic
1/2 cup frozen corn kernels, thawed
2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
1/4 teaspoon chipotle chile powder
4 (3/4-ounce) slices pepper jack cheese
4 plain burger buns
4 red-leaf lettuce leaves
8 red onion rings
Directions:
1. Stir ground beef, egg, chopped red onion, minced garlic, corn kernels, cilantro, and chipotle chile powder together in a large bowl; form into 4 equal-size patties. Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat; cook burgers until medium-rare (5-6 minutes per side). Divide pepper jack cheese slices among cooked burgers; place on burger buns with lettuce leaves and red onion rings.
