Mustard, collard or turnip greens are a Southern staple. Here is a simple flavorful way to fix them.
Ingredients:
2 bunches greens
1 quart water
1 medium onion, diced
1 pickled tabasco pepper (can take from pepper sauce bottle)
3 tablespoons sugar
4 ounces cubed ham or 1 ham hock
Directions:
1. Remove stems from and wash and chop the greens. Combine all ingredients with the greens in large pot and simmer until tender, about 2 hours. Best served with cornbread!
