Ingredients:
2 cups cornmeal
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, beaten
2 cups buttermilk
1/4 cup bacon drippings
Directions:
1. Combine cornmeal, baking soda, and salt; stir in eggs and buttermilk.
2. Heat bacon dripping in an iron skillet until very hot; add drippings to batter, mixing well.
3. Pour batter into hot skillet, and bake at 450 F for about 25 minutes, or until bread is golden brown.
