This is one of my daughter's recipes. She sent this to me to put in our Family's 2nd cook book. She never tells her 6 kids whats in the cookies only that she made cookies. They manage to eat them all up before they are even cooled off enough to eat. She has to make several batches so she can have enough for their school lunches. I hope you enjoy them, they are really good.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup softened butter or 1/2 cup margarine
1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
1 egg
2 cups sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped pecans or 1/2 cup walnuts
Directions:
1. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy; beat in egg.
2. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with sour cream, beating after each addition until smooth.
3. Stir in raisins and chopped pecans or walnuts.
4. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased baking sheets.
5. Bake at 400° for 10 to 12 minutes.
