Sour Cream Christmas Cookies

Best if dough is refrigerated for 30 min to an hour before rolling, cooking time depends on size of cookie cutouts. I usually add 5 cups of flour.
Ingredients:
1 cup shortening (part butter)
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
3 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup sour cream
5 -6 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon salt
Directions:
1. Cream first four ingredients.
2. Add sour cream, then dry ingredients.
3. Refrigerate dough (not necessary but helpful).
4. Roll and cut 1/8 .
5. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
