Sour Cream Chocolate Cake

This cake is out of this world. To say that it's chocolatey would be a gross understatement.
Ingredients:
4 1oz squares unsweetened chocolate-melted and cooled.
1 cup water
3/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup shortening
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggs
2 cups cake flour
2 cup sugar
1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
sour cream chocolate frosting
1/2 cup butter-softened
6 1oz squares unsweetened chocolate-melted and cooled
6 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup sour cream
6-8 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoons salt
Directions:
1. In a large mixing bowl,combine chocolate,water,sour cream,shortening,vanilla,and eggs. Mix well.
2. Combine flour,sugar,baking soda,salt,and baking powder. Gradually add to chocolate mixture.
3. Beat on low speed until just combined. Beat on high for 3 minutes.
4. Pour batter into two greased and floured 9 round cake pans.
5. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out clean.
6. Cool in pans for 10 minutes then turn out onto wire rack.
7. Cool completely.
8. Frosting:
9. In a large mixing bowl,combine frosting ingredients and beat until smooth and spreadable.
10. If too thick,add more milk. If too thin,add more sugar.
11. Frost cake as usual.
12. Store leftovers in refrigerator.
