This was one of my Dad’s favorite meals. It's quick, easy and filling. Substitute the ground beef with sausage and make it a breakfast meal. Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1 tablespoon butter |
1 medium onion, chopped |
3 tablespoons flour |
2 cups milk (more if you like it thinner) |
8 slices toast, dry |
Directions:
1. In a hot deep skillet crumble and brown the ground beef. As beef begins to cook, add salt, pepper, butter and chopped onion. 2. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring often, until meat is completely cooked. 3. Sprinkle flour over top and stir into meat and onion mixture until totally absorbed. 4. Slowly add milk, stirring constantly, until thickened. 5. Taste and adjust salt and pepper. 6. Serve over the toast; place 1 or 2 pats of butter on top. |
