Anyone who has ever visited Ireland and had any of their bread items, especially this little beauty, will confirm that Irish baked goods are unbelievably delicious. You can now find flour from Ireland in some of the larger supermarkets in the USA. Just look in the Irish foods section. It's quite expensive, but worth it to get that much closer to the taste experience of the Emerald Isle.
Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup cake flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
Directions:
1. Mix dry ingredients together.
2. Add buttermilk and stir.
3. Turn dough onto floured board and knead gently, forming a round, about 10-12 inches.
4. Cut into quarters.
5. Fry farls in a wee bit of butter, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes on each side.
6. You may need to set them on end to help cook the sides.
