These are a family favorite and I always make them for the holidays.
Ingredients:
1 cup walnuts, finely chopped
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 1/4 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
powdered sugar, for dusting
Directions:
1. Cream butter and 1/2 cup powdered sugar; add almond extract. Stir in flour, salt, and walnuts.
2. Roll the dough into 1 inch balls and place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
3. Bake in a preheated 400° oven until set but not brown (about 10 minutes.
4. Roll cookies in powdered sugar while warm and again when they've cooled.
