Snickerdoodles have been around a long time. They are easy to make and are delicious.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup soft butter or margarine
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 talespoons sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400.F
2. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and beat until fluffy.
3. Stir together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg and salt.
4. Blend into creamed mixture to make a stiff cookie dough.
5. Shape into balls the size of walnuts.
6. Mix the 2 tablespoons sugar with the 2 teaspoons cinnamon in a small bowl. Roll cookie balls in the cinnamon sugar. Place on greased baking baking sheets. Flatten with fork.
7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until very lighly browned.
