Slow Cooker Hash Browns Casserole

I copied this from a lady at work. I'm not sure where she got it, but she said it was an easy way to make potatoes for brunch.
Ingredients:
10 ounces cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 cup fat free sour cream
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 kg frozen hash browns
1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon butter
1/4 cup corn flake crumbs
Directions:
1. Stir first 5 ingredients in large bowl.
2. Add potatoes and cheese.
3. Place in crockpot and cover.
4. Cook on high 3-4 hours.
5. Melt butter in small frying pan.
6. Stir in cornflakes and cook until crisp.
7. Scatter over potatoes and serve.
