Another yummy way to eat oatmeal. The house smells wonderful while this is cooking.
Ingredients:
cooking spray
8 cups water
23 ounces unsweetened applesauce
1 1/2 cups steel cut oats
2 granny smith apples - peeled, cored, and diced
1/4 cup ground cinnamon, or to taste
1/3 cup granular no-calorie sucralose sweetener (such as splenda®) (optional)
Directions:
1. Lightly spray a 5-quart or larger slow cooker crock with cooking spray.
2. Combine water, applesauce, oats, diced apple, cinnamon, and sweetener in prepared slow cooker.
3. Cook on Low for 6 hours.
