Slow-Cooker Beef Mushroom Barley Soup

Super simple, but super delicious. It also smells wonderful while it's cooking.
Ingredients:
2 lbs beef chuck, cubed
4 teaspoons beef base
1 (12 ounce) bag frozen chopped onions
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
3/4 cup pearl barley
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
5 cups water
Directions:
1. In slow cooker, combine all ingredients.
2. Cover and cook on low setting for 5-6 hours.
