Slow Cooker Barbecued Ribs

Ingredients:

  • 3 1/2 lbs pork back ribs
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar , packed
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup cola
  • 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce

Directions:

  1. Spray inside of 4 to 5 qt slow cooker with cooking spray.
  2. Remove inner skin from ribs.
  3. Mix brown sugar, salt, pepper, and garlic.
  4. Rub mixture into ribs.
  5. Cut ribs into 4 in pieces.
  6. Layer ribs and onion in slow cooker.
  7. Pour cola over ribs.
  8. Cover and cook on low setting 8 to 9 hours or until tender.
  9. Remove ribs from slow cooker. Drain and discard liquid.
  10. Pour barbecue sauce into shallow bowl. Dip ribs into sauce. Place ribs into slow cooker.
  11. Pour any remaining sauce over ribs.
  12. Cover and cook on low heat setting 1 hour.
