marinated, slow cooked beef with a sauce that will warm the coldest of hearts - perfect for winter
Ingredients:
1 1/2-2 kg beef
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1 teaspoon brown sugar
2 cloves garlic
2 stalks celery
400 g crushed tomatoes
250 g mushrooms, diced
4 small onions, diced
1/2 cup red wine
Directions:
1. place first 8 ingredients in a bag or bowl to marinade. Overnight is best.
2. In crock pot place tomatoes, onion, mushrooms and red wine.
3. Add meat to crock pot - put to low heat.
4. Place marinade into a separate pot and bring to the boil.
5. Add to crock - pot.
6. Cover the meat in the sauce.
7. Cook on low overnight.
