Not only is this recipe lower calorie than most, it isn't as overwhelmingly sweet. Feel free to add an alternative sweetener or add more to taste. Substitute different juices or add fruit earlier to vary the flavor, but be aware that the fruit will get mushy if allowed to macerate.
Ingredients:
16 ounces red wine
8 ounces orange juice
2 ounces brandy
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon lime juice
4 teaspoons sugar
16 ounces club soda or 16 ounces seltzer water
fruit (to garnish)
Directions:
1. Add all ingredients except the fruit and club soda to a container and mix or shake until the sugar dissolves.
2. Pour about 6-8 oz over ice and top off with club soda.
3. Garnish with fruit.
4. Keeps for about 24 hours.
