Simple Mulligatawny Soup

Found in a magazine over 30 yrs ago. Very Tasty.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons margarine
8 ounces potatoes, pared sliced
1 small apple, pared cored and sliced
1/2 cup onion, sliced
1/4 cup carrot, sliced
1 tablespoon curry powder (to taste)
2 teaspoons tomato puree
george washington golden broth and seasoning
1 1/2 cups beef broth
1 lemon, juice of
Directions:
1. Melt margarine in sauce pan.
2. Add potatoes, apple, onion, carrot, curry and tomato puree.
3. Cook about 5 min or until barely colored.
4. ADD Broth made from packet of broth & seasoning mix and beef broth.
5. Cook covered about 45 min or until vegetables are tender.
6. Stir in lemon juice.
