This is a simple tasty salad that can be a base for many additions. I got this recipe from my sister - don't know where she got it, but it's quick and easy and tasty.
Ingredients:
1/4 head purple cabbage
1/4 head green cabbage
2 green onions
handful of slivered almonds
1/8 cup rice vinegar (more or less)
few drops of sesame oil (or more, to taste)
may add any other goodies, such as chopped cooked chicken, crispy chinese noodles, mandarin orange slices - what ever floats your boat! (or should i say, junket - lol)
Directions:
1. Chop cabbage to your desired size pieces
2. slice onions the way you like them
3. Mix together
4. Stir vinegar and sesame oil together
5. Add to cabbage just before serving (or else it will be wilty, which isn't a good thing)
6. sprinkle with almonds (if using)
7. Only make enough that will be eaten in one day, this doesn't save so well once the oil/vinegar is added. (I speak from experience)
