We make these whenever we have game night with the friends. I usually don't get any because they are gobbled up as soon as I take them out of the pan. Very easy to customize to your own tastes!
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground pork
1 package of wonton wrappers
6-8 large shrimp (raw)
1 egg lightly beaten
1tbsp. ground ginger
1tbsp. minced garlic
dash of white pepper
1 can chicken broth
soy sauce
1/2 tsp. sesame oil
corn oil
Directions:
1. Chop shrimp into small pieces (I use my hand chopper)
2. Mix pork, shrimp, egg, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, pepper and 2 tablespoons soy sauce in a bowl.
3. Fill center of each wonton wrapper with about 1 tablespoon of mixture.
4. Wet your fingers and seal each wonton into a triangle shaped package.
5. Place 2 tbsp. of corn oil in the bottom of a large non stick pan that has a lid.
6. Place wontons in a single layer on the pan and cook until both sides are lightly browned (flipping once.)
7. Add 1/2 can of chicken broth and 2 tbsp soy sauce to hot pan.
8. Cover with lid and bring to a boil.
9. Steam wontons for 3 minutes (don't let it boil too rapidly or they will fall apart)
10. Drain and serve with a side of soy sauce flavored with a little sesame oil and ginger.
11. Repeat until all wontons are cooked.
12. Glare at your husband and his friends because they ate them all before you could try one.
13. If you are making a double batch, you can save the chicken broth and soy sauce and use in subsequent batches.
