I got this recipe from my sister-in -law. A true favorite in her house. A great way to dress up green beans. This dish is often served at holiday time or in the summer when beans are fresh from the garden.
Ingredients:
3 cups fresh green beans (no need to cut)
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon flour
1/4-1/2 teaspoon pepper (according to taste)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
breadcrumbs
Directions:
1. Melt butter.
2. Add flour.
3. add all other ingredients except cheese and crumbs.
4. mix well.
5. add beans.
6. Pour into baking dish.
7. Top with cheddar cheese.
8. Top with bread crumbs.
9. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes Or until beans are cooked.
10. Note: Frozen beans will work as well.
