Tastes a bit like a trail mix. The wet mixture, coconut, oat bran and granola is enough to give you a fantastic base recipe then add nuts or dried fruit or seeds to your taste. Use raw for all seeds and nuts. You can even use ground flax seeds in place of whole ones and it still tastes great.
Ingredients:
8 cups oats
1 cup unsweetened coconut
1 cup almonds, chopped
1 cup pecans, chopped
1 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup sesame seeds
1/2 cup flax seed
1 cup oat bran
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 tablespoon vanilla
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
2. Chop nuts to desired size.
3. Mix all dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
4. Mix all wet ingredients together in a separate bowl.
5. Add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
6. Spread onto two large baking sheets.
7. Bake for 40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes and rotating the pan positions for even toasting.
8. Cool, then store in an airtight container.
