Scented ornaments for the holidays. These can't be eaten, but smell wonderful!! Haven't tried these yet, but I found them in a Pillsbury cookbook.
Ingredients:
1 (4 ounce) can cinnamon, about 1 cup
1 tablespoon ground cloves
1 tablespoon nutmeg
3/4 cup applesauce
2 tablespoons white glue
ribbon
Directions:
1. Combine cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg, stir in applesauce and glue until combined. Work mixture with hands for 2-3 minutes or until dough is smooth and ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
2. Divide dough into 4 and roll each portion to 1/4 inch thick. Cut dough with desired cookie cutters.
3. With a drinking straw, make a small hole in the top of each ornament. Place cutouts on a wire rack and let dry at room temperature for 3 days, turning over once a day.
4. Insert ribbon through hole and tie a knot. Don't eat.
