Scalloped Tomatoes With a Kick

I love this side dish! It came from an old friend of mine. There is a nice KICK from the jalapeno but not too hot!
Ingredients:
1 quart canned tomato (home canned is good)
1 egg
1 small onion, diced
1 stalk celery, diced
1 tablespoon jalapeno pepper, diced
1 1/2 cups dried bread, cubes
6 slices bacon
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients (except bacon) together and pour into a 1&1/2 quart baking dish.
2. Lay bacon strips over top.
3. Bake at 350°F for 45-50 minutes.
