Scalloped Potatoes

A delicious Amish recipe for cheesy scalloped potatoes. We also add ham to this recipe. Yum.
Ingredients:
6 -8 medium potatoes
4 cups milk
1/4 cup butter
1 cup cheddar cheese (can use american)
1 pinch salt
1 pinch pepper
ham (optional)
Directions:
1. Grease an oblong (preferably Glass) cake pan.
2. Peel and slice potatoes.
3. Heat milk, butter, salt and pepper.
4. Thicken with cornstarch if needed.
5. Cut cheese into small pieces and add to the milk mixture.
6. Stir until cheese is melted.
7. Add potatoes.
8. Add ham (optional).
9. Put potato cheese mixture in greased cake pan.
10. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
