Sausage Gravy & Biscuits - Comforting, creamy sausage gravy and biscuits. A great way to start the morning!
Ingredients:
1 lb. breakfast sausage
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
2 t butter
1/2 cup all purpose flour
3 cups whole milk
1/2 teaspoon salt, to taste
2 teaspoons coarse black pepper, to taste
Directions:
1. Brown sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until sausage is no longer pink. Add onions and continue to cook until the onion is translucent. Add butter and stir until melted. Stir in flour and garlic, saute for about a minute. Gradually stir in milk; bring to a low boil and cook until mixture thickens, stirring constantly. Add salt and pepper, to taste. Serve over split biscuits.
