Sausage and Rice Casserole

My Gran makes this when the weather starts to cool. It tastes great is very filling and is awsome comfort food. Just use your favorte sausage. I like johnsonville italian sausage the best for this.
Ingredients:
1 onion, chopped
2 tablespoons butter
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can beef consomme
1 beef bouillon cube
1 cup uncooked rice
10 -12 pork sausage links
Directions:
1. Place ingredients in a medium size pot ( about 4 qts) on stove top.
2. Bring to simmer then reduce to low cover and cook from 45 to 55 minutes or until rice is done.
3. Serve with gegetables or salad.
