Although it sounds weird. The flavor comes out with a coconut type flavor. Really good
Ingredients:
2/3 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup cocoa
1 cup water
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
2/3 cup sauerkraut
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
Directions:
1. Cream shortening and sugar.
2. Add eggs.
3. Add dry ingredients with water.
4. Add drained and chopped sauerkraut.
5. Bake in 9x13 greased and floured baking pan at 350 degrees for 30 min.
6. Good with a chocolate frosting.
