Saucy Chicken And Asparagus Bake

This is delicious! Goes great with a side of rice and a salad. There's never any leftovers when I serve this at home.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds fresh asparagus
2 tbsp vegetable oil
4 boneless chicken breast halves
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
one 10 3/4 oz can cream of chicken soup (campbell's)
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tsp fresh lemon juice
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese ( i use more, cuz we love cheese)
Directions:
1. If asparagus spears are thick or tough, cook in boiling water for 2 minutes, then drain.
2. Place asparagus in greased 9 x 9 baking dish.
3. Heat oil in skillet over medium heat, add chicken and brown on both sides; season with salt & pepper.
4. Arrange chicken over asparagus.
5. In a bowl, combine soup, mayo, and lemon juice. Pour over chicken.
6. Cover and bake for 40 minutes at 375.degrees. Uncover and sprinkle on the cheese and let stand for 5 minutes
